Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 34-year-old Black male that occurred at his residence.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Dexter Cathey.

Manner of Death: Natural

Cause of Death A: Acute Cardiac Dysfunction

Cause of Death B: Hypertrophic Heart Disease

Cause of Death C: Morbid Obesity

RIP DEXTER CATHEY (September 17, 1990 – October 22, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 8:05 p.m.

The Department of Medical Examiner publicly disclosed the CoD ruling on January 29.
