(L.A.) Raymond Lavalle, 48, Died From a Police Hit-and-Run

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 48-year-old Latino male in Santa Fe Springs.
The coroner’s office has identified the man as Raymond Lavalle.
Manner of Death: Accident
Cause of Death: Blunt-Force Injuries
RIP RAYMOND LAVALLE (October 23, 1975 – October 2, 2024)
Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday at 9:22 p.m.
The decedent was walking along Cedardale Drive when he was hit by the patrol vehicle of a Downey Police Department officer on duty, who was speeding. The pig did not stop to render aid, as required by law, and left Lavalle to die.
L.A. County District Attorney’s office declined to file charges in what they described was a “tragic accident.”
In 2025, the family filed a lawsuit against Downey PD alleging a cover-up.
