(L.A.) Richard Escarcega, 40, Died From Drug Abuse

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 40-year-old Latino male that occurred at a private residence.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Richard Escarcega.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Fentanyl and Methamphetamine Effects

RIP RICHARD ESCARCEGA (July 24, 1984 – September 26, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday at 4:51 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published in January presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
