(L.A.) Danny Oerlemans, 51, Died in Northridge

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 51-year-old White/Caucasian male that occurred on a street.
The coroner’s office has identified the man as Danny Oerlemans.
Manner of Death: Accident
Cause of Death: Multiple Blunt-Force Traumatic Injuries

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday at 9:28 p.m.
The decedent was a bicyclist who was fatally hit by a vehicle in a hit-and-run collision in Northridge.
LAPD had responded to the area near 8556 N. Lindley Avenue and Parthenia Street at around 9:20 p.m.
Police investigators learned that the suspect vehicle was traveling north on Lindley near Napa Street when it struck Oerlemans, knocking him off his bicycle and into the street.

A bicyclist was struck and killed by a driver who fled the scene in Northridge Thursday evening.
The incident took place on the 8500 block of North Lindley Avenue at 9:20 p.m. Emergency responders from the Los Angeles Fire Department arrived at the scene, but the victim was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
LAPD confirmed the incident was a hit-and-run felony.
The Los Angeles Police Department closed both the northbound and southbound lanes of Lindley Avenue near Napa Street as the investigation continued.
