(L.A.) Christopher Lewis, 54, Died in a Courtyard

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 54-year-old Black male that occurred in a courtyard.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Christopher Lewis.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Phencyclidine Toxicity

Other Significant Condition: Obesity

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday at 11:44 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published in late December, presumably after the results of tox screening came back positive from the lab. This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, overdose.

The county apparently had the decedent’s body cremated on October 11.
