(L.A.) Gicela Prieto, 45, Died From Meth

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 45-year-old Hispanic female that occurred on a sidewalk.

The coroner’s office has identified the woman as Gicela Prieto.

Height: 5 feet 3 inches / Weight: 190 pounds

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Effects of Methamphetamine

RIP GICELA CARMEN PRIETO (May 1, 1979 – August 5, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday at 8:55 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on December 12, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab.

After an arrest on April 24, 2024, the decedent was ordered by a judge to enter court-ordered rehab to deal with her abuse of substances.

She was dealing with three misdemeanors she was charged with in February 2023 — two counts of disobedience and one count of vandalism.

She had been released on her own recognizance in these three charges but was remanded into custody in April 2024.
