(L.A.) David Needles, 60, Died From Substance Abuse

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 60-year-old White/Caucasian male that occurred at his residence.

The coroner’s office identified the man as David Needles.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Cocaine Effects

Other Significant Condition: Sequelae of Chronic Ethanol Use

RIP DAVID NEEDLES (February 15, 1964 – July 10, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday at 7:34 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on September 17, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back positive from the lab. This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.

Note that there are multiple decedents named “David Needles” in public records.
