Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 27-year-old Black male that occurred on a sidewalk.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Melvin Richardson Jr.

Manner of Death: Natural

Cause of Death A: Cardiopulmonary Arrest

Cause of Death B: Diabetic Ketoacidosis

Cause of Death C: Uncontrolled Diabetes Mellitus

RIP MELVIN RICHARDSON JR. (June 25, 1997 – July 22, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday at 1:07 p.m.

The Department of Medical Examiner publicly disclosed the CoD ruling on August 24.
