(L.A.) Joseph Benson, 64, Died on a Street

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 64-year-old Black male that occurred on a street.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Joseph Benson.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Blunt Trauma

RIP JOSEPH BENSON (May 12, 1960 – July 16, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 3:44 a.m.

LAPD had been called to Fourth Street near Wall Street at around 3:30 a.m.

The victim was walking in the street near Wall Street when a vehicle turned left on Fourth Street and hit him.

LAFD paramedics would later pronounce him dead at the scene.
