(L.A.) David Madrid, 54, Died in a Homeless Shelter

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 54-year-old Latino male that occurred at a homeless shelter.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as David Madrid.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Arteriosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease

Other Significant Conditions: History of Schizophrenia; Hepatitis C; Effects of Fentanyl and Methamphetamine

RIP DAVID MADRID (May 29, 1970 – June 23, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday at 2:20 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on September 11, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back positive for the drugs.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, overdose.
