(L.A.) Samuel Aldana Castro, 23, Died on a Street

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 23-year-old Latino male that occurred on a street.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Samuel Aldana Castro.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Multiple Blunt-Force Traumatic Injuries

Excessive speed may have triggered a two-vehicle crash in Burbank that killed one motorist late Saturday night.

The accident happened at around 11:15 p.m. on Vanowen Street, just west of Hollywood Way.

A white Toyota Corolla and a white Scion were speeding eastbound on Vanowen and collided as they approached Hollywood Way, careening into an electrical pole and fire hydrant.

Officers arriving at the scene located a motorist in the roadway who had been ejected from the Scion. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The motorist in the Corolla suffered moderate injuries and was treated at the location by paramedics.

“The driver of the Corolla remained at the scene and was interviewed by traffic investigators,” a Burbank PD spokesperson said. “At this time, it is unknown whether drugs or alcohol were factors in this collision.”
