Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 44-year-old Black male that occurred in a hospital.
The coroner’s office has identified the man as Dwight Myers.
Manner of Death: Natural
Cause of Death A: Pulmonary Embolus
Cause of Death B: Deep Leg Vein Thrombosis
Other Significant Condition: Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 12:08 p.m.
The decedent was the Jamaican-born American rapper known professionally as Heavy D. He was the leader of Heavy D & the Boyz, a group that had a sizeable audience in the United States throughout most of the 1990s. “Now That We Found Love” was one of their popular hits.
The medical examiner that ruled on the cause of death was Dr. Juan Carrillo.
