Bupropion (Wellbutrin) is an antidepressant medication primarily used to treat major depressive disorder and seasonal affective disorder, as well as to support smoking cessation.

There is a known association between bupropion treatment and increased risk of suicidal ideation and behavior.

In fact, there are reports stating bupropion may be the worst antidepressant for treating suicidal behaviors and could increase suicidal tendencies.
