(L.A.) Jose Ramirez, 64, Died in State Prison

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 64-year-old Latino male that occurred in a prison/correctional facility.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Jose Ramirez.

Cause of Death: Effects of Fentanyl

RIP JOSE RAMIREZ (April 22, 1960 – April 24, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday at 4:21 p.m.

The Department of Medical Examiner publicly disclosed the CoD ruling in early June, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back positive for the drug.

Note that there are multiple decedents named “Jose Ramirez” in public records.
