(L.A.) Luke Garcia, 21, Died on the 5 Freeway

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 21-year-old Latino male that occurred on the Santa Ana Freeway.
The coroner’s office has identified the young man as Luke Garcia.
Manner of Death: Accident
Cause of Death: Mulitple Blunt-Force Traumatic Injuries
RIP LUKE GARCIA (July 22, 2002 – April 6, 2024)
Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday at 7:18 a.m.
The decedent and a female companion were fatally injured in a crash in the Commerce area.
California Highway Patrol stated that the accident happened at the Slauson Avenue off-ramp of the southbound Santa Ana (5) Freeway.
On May 5, 2025, his mother left the following review on the Yelp page of Navarro’s Towing in Monterey Park:
My son and girlfriend passed away from hit and run drunk and drugged up man. The LAPD and CHP were very helpful and empathetic. We went down 3 times to pick up my sons car each time being told we couldn’t take it yet. We have moved 6 months prior and they had all info. Each time was 4 hr drive and run around. We were told due to the horrific circumstances that we wouldn’t have to pay to get out. Talked to Caesar and Laura who assured me we would get his belongings just for them to send my daughter away crying because they denied ever talking to me told me to give my daughter pink slip so she could pick up. Didn’t even allow her to go in his trunk. My son’s name Luke Angel Garcia April 6
