Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 48-year-old Latino male that occurred in a prison/correctional facility.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Eddie Gutierrez.

Manner of Death: Natural

Cause of Death: Diabetic Ketoacidosis

Other Significant Conditions: Sepsis, Pneumonia, and Hypertension

RIP EDDIE GUTIERREZ (March 15, 1976 – March 29, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Friday at 6:11 p.m.

The Department of Medical Examiner publicly disclosed the CoD ruling on May 23.
