(L.A.) Yorlin Montiel, 22, Died in a Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 22-year-old Hispanic male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Yorlin Montiel.

Manner of Death: Undetermined

Cause of Death: Rabies Encephalitis

Other Significant Condition: Nephrolithiasis

RIP YORLIN MONTIEL (July 18, 1982 – October 26, 2004)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 9:41 p.m.

Nephrolithiasis refers to having kidney stones.

This is the only case of rabies we’ve seen among the over 150,000 death records made public by the county’s medical examiner.
