(L.A.) Rodney Scates, 44, Died in a Parked Vehicle

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 44-year-old Black male that occurred in a parked vehicle.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Rodney Scates.

Manner of Death: Natural

Cause of Death: Sequelae of Chronic Ethanol Use

RIP RODNEY SCATES (May 21, 1979 – February 18, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday at 3:30 p.m.

The Department of Medical Examiner publicly disclosed the CoD ruling on March 13, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back negative for substances.
