RIP MICHAEL NASH (April 22, 1990 – February 7, 2024)
Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday at 11:35 a.m.
Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on August 12, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back positive from the lab. This is considered an accidental drug overdose.
Mitragynine is the most abundant active alkaloid in the Southeast Asian plant Mitragyna speciosa, commonly known as kratom.
Most kratom-related deaths involve other substances, particularly opioids. For example, in Florida, over 75% of kratom deaths involved fentanyl.
