RIP LEROY PETERSON (August 15, 1977 – January 11, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday at 11:12 a.m.

The Department of Medical Examiner publicly disclosed the COD ruling on February 13, presumably after the results of tox screening came back positive from the lab. This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, polysubstance overdose.

Levamisole is a veterinary pharmaceutical used primarily to treat worm infestations in livestock.

The Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) estimates that levamisole is present in about 80% of cocaine seized in the United States and linked to debilitating, and sometimes fatal, immunologic effects in cocaine abusers.
