Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 41-year-old Latino male that occurred at an encampment.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Javier Gomez.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Fentanyl and Methamphetamine Intoxication

RIP JAVIER GOMEZ (April 22, 1982 – January 5, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Friday at 2:14 p.m.

The Department of Medical Examiner publicly disclosed the COD ruling on February 22, presumably after the results of tox screening came back positive for the drugs.
