Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 23-year-old Latino male that occurred on the Santa Ana (5) Freeway.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Ernie Lopez.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Blunt Trauma

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Friday at 4:49 a.m.

The decedent was fatally injured on the Santa Ana (5) Freeway at the Ditman Avenue and Indiana Street exit. He was hit by a car on the southbound side of the freeway.
