(L.A.) Jie Deng, 48, Died in a Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 48-year-old Asian male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Jie Deng.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Multiple Sharp Force Injuries

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday at 1:58 a.m.

Sheriff’s deputies had been called at 1:57 a.m. to the 100 block S. Sixth Avenue and Valley Boulevard in La Puente. They found two individuals suffering stab wounds. The men were taken to a hospital. Jie Deng died. The second man’s condition is unknown. The stabbing suspect was detained at the scene.

The decedent’s name appears to be Chinese.
