(L.A.) Mark Smith, 64, Died on a Sidewalk

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 64-year-old Black male that occurred on a sidewalk.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Mark Smith.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Toxic Effects of Ethanol, Fentanyl, and Methamphetamine

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday at 8:57 a.m.

Drug deaths are frequently classified as accidents under the assumption that the users didn’t intend to kill themselves.
