(L.A.) Ryan Mitchell, 28, Died at a Halfway House

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 28-year-old Black male that occurred at a halfway house.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Ryan Mitchell.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Fentanyl Intoxication

RIP RYAN MITCHELL (December 23, 1994 – May 24, 2023)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday at 5:37 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on July 18/19, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back positive from the lab.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
