Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 30-year-old Hispanic female that occurred in a vehicle.

The coroner’s office has identified the woman as Jayme Mejia.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Effects of Fentanyl and Para-Fluorofentanyl

RIP JAYME MEJIA (June 17, 1992 – May 16, 2023)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on July 30, presumably after the results of tox screening came back positive for the drugs. This was an accidental overdose.
