(L.A.) David Kim, 54, Died at a Residence

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 54-year-old Asian male that occurred his residence. Born in L.A. County. Mother’s maiden name is Chung.

The coroner’s office identified the man as David Kim.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death A: Sudden Cardiac Dysfunction

Cause of Death B: Hypertensive Cardiovascular Disease

Other Significant Conditions: Recent Cocaine Use, Diabetes Mellitus, Obesity

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Friday at 10:00 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on September 7, presumably after the results of tox screening came back positive from the lab. This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.

The surnames of the decedent’s parents are both Korean in origin.

Note that there are multiple decedents named “David Kim” in public records.
