(L.A.) Oscar Hernandez, 29, Died on a Mountain Side

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 29-year-old Hispanic male that occurred on a mountain side.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Oscar Hernandez, resident of La Clede Avenue in the 90039.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Methamphetamine Intoxication

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday at 4:40 p.m.

The decedent had been missing for two weeks when his body was found dead in Griffith Park with his dog by his side.

He was reported missing on March 16. His body was found Thursday night in a remote area of the sprawling urban park. His dog, King, was alive but emaciated.

The dog apparently hadn’t left his owner’s side for two weeks.

Hernandez was last seen near the park merry-go-round’s hiking trails, according to a missing person flier posted by his family.
