(L.A.) John Shepard, 71, Died in a Yard

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 71-year-old Caucasian male that occurred in a yard.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as John Shepard.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death A: Carboxyhemoglobinemia

Cause of Death B: Smoke Inhalation

RIP JOHN SHEPARD (March 30, 1952 – April 22, 2023)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday at 12:18 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on November 4.

Carboxyhemoglobin is a stable complex of carbon monoxide and hemoglobin that forms in red blood cells upon contact with carbon monoxide.
