RIP JACKLYNN NEVAREZ (September 8, 1954 – April 12, 2004)
Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday at 12:45 p.m.
This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
Intravenous drug abuse can cause fatal sepsis. When people inject drugs using dirty needles or contaminated drugs, bacteria can get into their bloodstream. This can lead to infections at the injection site, which might spread throughout the body if not treated. The body’s reaction to these widespread infections can cause sepsis, a serious condition where inflammation affects the whole body. Sepsis can damage organs and lead to very low blood pressure. In severe cases, it can cause multiple organs to fail and result in death.
