Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 36-year-old Black male that occurred on a street in the Skid Row area of DTLA.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Derris Ellis.

The decedent was hit by a Line 60 Metro bus at 133 East Sixth Street at around 10:20 p.m.

Witnesses claim he was involved in a fight when he fell backwards into the path of the bus.
