Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 41-year-old Hispanic male that occurred in a driveway.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Samuel Herrera Jr.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Gunshot Wounds

The decedent was shot at least 10 times by LASD deputies.

UPDATE: In June 2026, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors agreed to pay $9.6 million to the decedent’s family to settle a civil rights lawsuit.
