Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 56-year-old Latino male who passed away in a hospital.

The coroner’s office identified the man as J. Melquiades Soto Soto.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Complications of Blunt-Force Injuries of the Head

Other Significant Conditions: Hypertensive and Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease; Chronic Alcohol Use

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Friday.

The fundraiser states in Spanish that the decedent died from an accident.

Note that the government investigator had initially given the decedent’s name as simply Jose Soto.
