The coroner’s office has identified the woman as Florinda Velasquez Hernandez. Bornin El Salvador.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Strangulation

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday.

The decedent was found lifeless inside a trash dumpster near the El Monte mobile home park where she lived.

She was killed by her roommate David Stanley Lemus, a man in his 20s. A witness saw him dragging her body to the dumpster.

The suspect would plead no contest to a second-degree murder charge and be sentenced to 15 years to life in state prison.
