Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 66-year-old Black female.

The coroner’s office identified the woman as Shiela Johnson.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Sequelae of Blunt-Force Injuries

The decedent was on an unmarked crosswalk on January 12 when she was hit by a vehicle.

LAPD said the incident happened at around 6:55 p.m. at the intersection of 45th Place and Western Avenue in the Vermont Square neighborhood.

Note that the the decedent’s name was indeed spelled as Shiela, and not the common spelling Sheila.
