(L.A.) Rene Turcios, 54, Died on a Street

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 54-year-old Latino male that occurred on a street.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Rene Turcios.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Multiple Gunshot Wounds

RIP RENE D. TURCIOS (June 16, 1971 – January 21, 2026)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday.

The shooting happened at around 4:00 p.m. by the intersection of 74th Street and Van Ness in South L.A.

Richard Campbell, 42, was arrested the following day for allegedly committing the crime.
