Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 40-year-old Caucasian male that occurred at his residence in Hermosa Beach.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Gregory Ayakatubby. Born in L.A. County.

RIP GREGORY L AYAKATUBBY (September 6, 1962 – April 18, 2003)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Friday at 1:00 p.m.

The decedent died of complications from a head injury sustained in an alcohol-related fall.

He was found unresponsive by his brother Scott Ayakatubby, a beach-volleyball player who was also known to have suffered from alcohol problems.

Their father died in the late 90s from liver failure attributed to alcohol abuse.
