(L.A.) Mark Brown, 37, Died in a Riverbed

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 37-year-old Black male that occurred in a riverbed in Cerritos.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Mark Brown of Compton.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Stab Wound of Chest

RIP MARK DESHAWN BROWN (May 7, 1988 – December 27, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday morning.

Sheriff’s deputies responded at around 8:00 a.m. to the intersection of South Street and Studebaker Road by the San Gabriel River.

Note that there are multiple decedents named “Mark Brown” in public records.
