(L.A.) Ronald Shipley, 47, Died at a Metro Station

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 47-year-old White/Caucasian male that occurred at a Metro station.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Ronald Shipley.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death A: Acute Combined Drug Intoxication

Cause of Death B: Methamphetamine, Fentanyl, Phencyclidine and Cocaine

Other Significant Conditions: Obesity, Substance Use Disorder

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published in early February, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, polydrug overdose.
