(L.A.) Iesha Massey, 42, Died on a Highway

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 42-year-old Black female that occurred on a highway in the Antelope Valley.

The coroner’s office identified the woman as Iesha Massey.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Sharp-Force Injuries of Neck

RIP IESHA MASSEY (September 18, 1983 – November 19, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday morning.

The decedent had been reported missing on October 15.

Her wrapped body was found at around 8:30 a.m. by a County road-cleaning crew near the intersection of 10th Street East and south of East Avenue E, north of Lancaster.

* Note that the government investigator had initially given the decedent’s age as 32.

UPDATE: Michael Bates Jr., 56, has been arrested for this crime. He was booked on suspicion of murder and is being held on $2 million bail.
