(L.A.) Jose Onofre Aburto, 21, Died at a Residence

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 21-year-old Latin American male that occurred at his residence.

The coroner’s office identified the young man as Jose Onofre Aburto.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Methamphetamine Toxicity

RIP JOSE ONOFRE ABURTO (March 16, 2001 – January 12, 2023)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday at 2:12 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on December 12, presumably after the results of tox screening came back positive from the lab.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
