(L.A.) Tilly Servin, 1, Died in a Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a one-year-old Hispanic female that occurred in a hospital.
The coroner’s office identified the child as Tilly Servin.
Manner of Death: Homicide
Cause of Death: Blunt-Force Head Trauma

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday.
Long Beach PD on November 7 started an investigation into the abuse of a 14-month old. The child was hospitalized and succumbed to injuries on November 10.
The District Attorney’s Office has charged Alfredo Muñoz Jr., 40, and Kelly Muñoz, 34, with torture and assault on a child causing death. They are the father and stepmother, respectively, of the deceased.
Muñoz initially claimed to investigators that he tripped over a baby gate while holding his 14-month-old daughter. But a forensic examination cast heavy doubt on that explanation. Moreover, Munoz had served time in prison for a 2021 conviction of willful cruelty to a child.
The girl’s ’s biological mother has since filed a lawsuit against the L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) for placing the child in Muñoz’s care despite his history of abuse.
