RIP MARIO JESUS LEAL ACOSTA (June 20, 1983 – October 11, 2025)
Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday.
Methamphetamine elevates heart rate and blood pressure through its stimulant effects and causes vasoconstriction and vasospasm of blood vessels. This leads to decreased oxygen supply and increased oxygen demand in the heart and brain, causing cardiovascular damage and increasing the risk of ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes.
Meth users have a significantly higher incidence of stroke events (both ischemic and hemorrhagic) compared to non-users, including subarachnoid hemorrhage and intracerebral hemorrhage. The drug-induced acute hypertension and chronic vascular damage from repeated use accelerate atherosclerosis and vascular injury, predisposing users to fatal cerebrovascular events.
