Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 42-year-old Black male that occurred at a beauty salon.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Zaque Sykes of Compton.

Born in L.A. County. Mother’s maiden name is Wiley.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Gunshot Wound of Chest

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday.

The decedent was causing a ruckus at a beauty salon in Compton. A female customer shot him. She has not been arrested and is cooperating with the police investigation.

Indeed, the decedent had a long rap sheet, including a recent arrest in Orange County for assault with a deadly weapon.

The incident location was right by Compton Early College High School.
