(L.A.) Jose Viveros-Ramos, 73, Died at Western Convalescent Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 73-year-old Latino male that occurred at Western Convalescent Hospital.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Jose Viveros-Ramos of Long Beach.

The decedent was born in Puebla, Mexico. He had been assaulted and robbed by a group of suspects while attempting to enter his home in the 800 block of Elm Avenue on April 20, at around 9:40 p.m.

Viveros sustained a severe spinal cord injury and remained hospitalized for nearly five months before passing away.
