(L.A.) Derrick Young, 37, Died at a Residence

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 37-year-old Black male that occurred at his residence.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Derrick Young.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Acute and Chronic Alcohol Abuse

Other Significant Condition: Cardiovascular Disease

RIP DERRICK YOUNG (1988/1989 – September 22, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday.

This was a case of acute alcohol poisoning. The decedent was an alcoholic who on that day drank too much over a short period of time.

Alcohol deaths can be classified as accidents under the assumption that the sots didn’t intend to kill themselves.
