(L.A.) Darye Livas, 74, Died at a Residence

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 74-year-old Black male that occurred at his residence.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Darye Livas.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Acute Mixed-Opioid Toxicity (Heroin, Oxycodone, and Hydrocodone)

Other Significant Conditions: Medical History of Diabetes Mellitus, Obesity, and Hepatocellular Carcinoma Associated with Cirrhosis

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on October 22, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, polydrug overdose.
