(L.A.) Shara Shahijanian, 41, Died in Glendale

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 41-year-old Armenian male that occurred at his residence.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Shara Shahijanian.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Coronary Artery Disease

Other Significant Condition: Effects of Hydrocodone and Zolpidem

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.

Hydrocodone is a schedule II semi-synthetic opioid medication used to treat pain. It is the most frequently prescribed opioid in the United States.

Zolpidem, sold under the brand name Ambien, among others, is a medication primarily used for the short-term treatment of sleeping problems. Guidelines recommend that it be used only after cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia and behavioral changes, such as sleep hygiene, have been tried.
