(L.A.) Eduardo Muñoz, 51, Died in Whittier

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 51-year-old Latino male that occurred in a vehicle.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Eduardo Munoz of Pico Rivera.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Gunshot Wounds of the Head

RIP EDUARDO MUÑOZ (November 15, 1973 – July 24, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday.

The decedent was in his car when he was shot on Pickering Avenue, north of Penn Street, near St. Mary of the Assumption Elementary School. The car was still in drive when police found it.

Whittier PD detectives believe the motive was personal and related to family matters.

The suspect is Jesus Hernandez, 46, the son of the victim’s girlfriend.
