(L.A.) Gerardo Contreras Guerra, 60, Died at a Police Department Jail

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 60-year-old Latino male that occurred at a police department jail.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Gerardo Contreras Guerra.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Effects of Methamphetamine

Other Significant Condition: Hypertensive and Arteriosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday.

Pomona Police Department has stated this was an in-custody death. The decedent was an inmate who had been arrested on suspicion of drug-related offenses. He was in an altercation with another arrestee when he suffered a medical emergency at around 4:00 a.m.
